Each member of the Board brings different experience and skills to the operation of the Company. The Board also implements high standards of corporate governance and is accountable to the Company's shareholders. It is the objective of the Board that good governance is about more than meeting legal obligations. Instead, it aims to exceed the requirements as currently prescribed by law. With the objective of ensuring successful creation of value within a framework of acceptable risk, the Board sees its role as including:
- Representing the interests of shareholders and satisfying all statutory duties to them
- Constituting subcommittees of the Board to address various issues such as ethics, nominations and audit
- Encouraging the proper assessment of business opportunity and risks
- Deciding the strategic direction and future needs of the business
